Absolutely. I have used it that way -- with a non bluetooth receiver. It works fine. The device works pretty well both as a bluetooth transmitter and as receiver. Very useful to have it around.
As noted on the item's Amazon page: "MAKE IT TWO: Upgraded 2-in-1 Bluetooth V4.1 transmitter can be paired with two Bluetooth receivers (like headphones + speakers) simultaneously. Note: aptX Low Latency does NOT support Dual Link mode."
Hi Don, I have my Bluetooth device connected right to the charger and the other end to my headphone port on the TV set. It keeps the Bluetooth device constantly charged with no problem.
This would plug into the audio port of your PC, the same where you would plug in speakers or headphones. After that it's just bluetooth to your headphones. So as far as your PC would be see it the device, it would look like just a pair of speakers or headphones. If the dongle you're referring to that you've used in the past is USB device, then that's a whole other issue.
After answering "I don't think so" I read the other response and it was a "yes". I put one of mine in Xmitt and the other in receive and they did pair. My "I don't think so" was in error.
It has is own battery. You have to charge via USB to micro USB. Battery last like 8 hours. You can also leave cable and run continued power.
It will only start charging the device automatically when plugged into a live connection. But If the device is on and has been previously paired it plugged into an always on connection it should automatically connect.
It should do whatever you want it to do in any 3.5 mm jack but it's a switch for transmitting/receiver remember ..so for audio purposes you could plug in the taotronics device into the ps4 and keep it on transmitter you'll hear the audio on your BEATS wireless .. none of your audio going into the mic would go through to other players eliminating the gamer aspect of a wireless headset.. because you would have to be on receiving end.... Doesn't the ps4 use Bluetooth just connect the headset through the settings... Wtf man lol
