Yes it beeps. However, the booklet that comes with it includes a bunch of bar codes that you scan and can change its functions, so there's a bar code that turns off the beeping function. Best thing since sliced bread!
Hello Kyle. The scanner is simply another input device like a keyboard. When you scan a barcode, the scanner sends the data to whatever application you have open. So if you had a cell selected on a spreadsheet it would put the barcode data there, or if you had notepad open it would put the data into that file. It sounds like what you need is POS program of some kind that would know what to do with the barcode data once you have scanned it. The scanner by itself simply sends the barcode data to the computer, but you need a program that knows what to do with it. Sorry for being a little repetitive.
Yes, but not reliably. It's hit and miss. Sometimes it will read the barcode, but often it will not.
I think it has to do with how many serials/data it can store while not in contact with the base ie offline storage.
I don't know for sure, but I don't think so. I just tried to scan one and it wouldn't work. However, there may be a way to program it to do so. You may want to contact the seller for a definite answer.
I an not sure. The batteries Mine came with it and recharge when in the stand. Great product. Have had no trouble with it.
