***NOTE: I have received ZERO compensation or consideration from anyone for this review.*** This is a really great dash cam. First, and foremost, it takes fantastic video footage. I really appreciated this when playing back the video on my computer or TV. And it includes a 32 GB memory card (the max allowable). It's exceedingly easy to setup and use, with practically no learning curve at all. It has a wealth of features: video quality settings, time and date stamp, loop recording, even the ability to include your vehicle license plate or other ID on the video, to name just a few. It's also a photographic camera as well. Love the Auto Start feature when it's plugged into the cigarette lighter. Start your vehicle and the camera turns on and starts recording immediately. You can even set the Auto Start to delay starting to record for 10, 20, or 30 seconds. The same options are even available when you turn off your vehicle. The cord on the included cigarette lighter adapter is quite generous in length. This allows you to hide the cord along the windshield and dashboard trim. Loop recording can be set to make a new recording file every 2, 3, or 5 minutes. That amounts to 30, 20, or 12 video files, respectively, per hour of continuous recording. And the new recordings have a 1-second overlap. So, the new one contains the last second of the previous one. FYI at the highest resolution (1920 x 1080), 5-minute recordings are ~486 MB each, 3-minute ones are ~282 MB, and 2-minute ones are ~188 MB. The significance of this, at least for me, becomes apparent when transferring the files to a computer or tablet via the included USB cable. It appears to be USB 2. This means transferring multiple 486 MB (5-minute) files will not be a very fast operation, to say the least. When the memory card becomes full, it automatically deletes the oldest recording to make room. There are 2 exceptions: a) you can manually lock a recording(s) to prevent it being overwritten or b) the GSensor feature. If the camera receives a jarring shock (or is shaken) while recording, the camera will automatically lock the currently recording file. This feature can either be turned off or set to low, medium (default) or high sensitivity. Based on your vehicle's front-end size you will need to experiment with where on your windshield you want to place the camera. Too low and you film a lot of your vehicle's hood (along with any reflection). Speaking of the windshield, you quickly come to appreciate how clean it is (or not) when playing back the video on a large screen. The camera can be rotated easily 360°, but stays in place once you've done so. While recording, the mic can quickly be muted or unmuted with the touch of the down arrow button. The rotation allows you to record selfie video or the occupants. Please note that this becomes virtually useless when it's dark. This camera does not have any lighting of its own, like some other cameras that have a front LED. Finally, the included manual is a very small book containing (good) English as well as several other languages. I recommend downloading the online PDF, however. It's larger (or can be made so) and offers a little more of a detailed explanation of all the camera's features. And this camera truly has a lot of features.
