Hello, I do not have this model and mine did not come with a stand, but the nature of the stand is to do exactly what you are asking so I am 99.999% sure that the answer is yes. If you look at the picture you will see it would be impossible to manually press the trigger while the scanner is in the stand. I hope this helps.
it will not automatically populate the information about price paid, or even product name. this barcode scanner, like any other, just acts as a keyboard input that reads just the number of the barcode that you scan and enters it into whichever application you have open and active. That being said, you could use it in the search box of a site like amazon and it will return the product as a result of the search if its barcode has been properly entered by a seller.
Hi coeur29, to setup barcode scanner preferences you scan the code from the manual. Beeb sound volume up or down, scan the code, infra red auto detection toggle, scan the code. If on by default it is turned off, until the device is rebooted or re-plugged into the USB. I as apparently you did not have even a simple set of lame preference settings included just a lavish if not cryptic description of the scanner stand. You piqued my curiosity now to discover just which code set to set preferences on the scanner. Odd they did not include even a simple copy of the hardware manual codes. I would think a very few would suffice. beep loud soft off, ir detection toggle, that surely would not be more than an extra page or even printed on the back side of that creative stand assembly instruction. The short of it, the preferences are set by reading a control barcode. I do not know what or where to find the control barcode at this time.
I admit complete ignorance as to what UPF 417 codes are. It will scan UPC and EAN - style codes. It will not scan the QR - style 2 dimensional codes.
Yes, I have mine set up on the stand and I just put items under it to scan and I never have to touch the scanner.
