Taotronics retractable dog leash is complimented well with a dog clicker (to get the attention of your dogs), a sound that is innate to them as well as serving a dual purpose of having a LED night light when you’re traveling through dark territories. This safety feature is a nice addition that could cost more if you were to get each item separately. But the fact that Taotronics incorporates all these elements in an all-in-one dog leash makes it the most convenient dog leash I’ve owned to date. We have a terrier and a hybrid Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix and I’ve used it on both of them. The terrier is a bit rambunctious, so it was harder to keep him on the leash, but of course with the easy functionality of Taotronics product, I was able to lock the leash by pushing forward and unlock it by pushing backwards. Simple enough. For my tamer dog, the Pomeranian mix, I felt at ease of just letting him loose and leaving the lock off because he would not stray too far. I have owned cheaper models of this sort of leash, but they bare in comparison to Taotronics model. It is very sturdy and I can tell it could support a larger dog if necessary. Taotronics promises that it will support up to 110lbs. Unfortunately, I was not able to test this out, since I have smaller dogs, but I’ll take Taotronics’ word for it, since I have only had good experiences on their product guarantees. The leash can extend up to 16 feet and the spring built into the retracting mechanism seems to be a lot smoother than any other leash that I’ve tried on the market. The material that makes up the leash components is a ABS plastic casing, which seems to be a material that Taotronics often uses with their other products, so I can speak to its durableness. The night light is a nice feature, since it can be used normally, and it has a flashing sequence, so it acts like a signal indicator. When holding the leash and also feeling the nylon material, I could tell that I maintained a solid grip the entire time and was not the least bit worried that my dog would be able to break the nylon material even with brute force. It’s funny that this product and the Bluetooth headphone that I bought from Taotronics both have multi-functional buttons that do more than one thing. And for this instance, it is very much convenient to be able to release and break with ease. Also, Taotronics promises that the core spring is weather proof, so that even if the coldest weather conditions, you should not have to worry about any of the mechanisms falling apart. I noticed that when the lease releases back towards you, it does so it a controlled manner, and this is important because I have had experiences with other leashes, where they would snap back abruptly and cause some minor nuisances. Taotronics seems to excel in a variety of product markets and I would happily recommend this to family and friends because of its all-in-one type of functionality.
